Press release date: March 16, 2009

MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN, MARCH 16, 2009 --- HK Systems, Inc., North America's leading automated material handling and supply chain software total solutions provider, today announces being selected by Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia, to provide an Automated Library System for their new state-of-the-art library.

Currently under construction, the new library is the first Australian university to employ an Automated Library System which includes HK Systems' Mini-Load Storage and Retrieval Machine Technology and Equipment Management System Software. The system will store up to 1.8 million items and will be complemented by an open-access browsing collection consisting of up to 500,000 items.

University Librarian, Maxine Brodie, stated, "Apart from more cost-effective use of built space, these systems encourage the use of print because retrieval is so much faster than walking the stacks. In addition, clients can request items be retrieved for their use before they set foot in the library."

HK Systems will work with its Australian partner, Dexion Integrated Systems, to provide seamless project deployment. Todd Hunter, HK Systems' Account Executive, stated, "The combination of HK Systems' and Dexion's deep bench of automation and library system experience will deliver a premier industry solution for Macquarie University." Hunter continued, "This opportunity is just one example of HK's international strategy of working in concert with partners such as Dexion to deploy automated library system solutions on a global basis."
