Press release date: March 18, 2009

March 18, 2009 (Rogersville, TN): HDK Industries announces the commissioning of a manufacturing line at its Rogersville, TN production facility. The line is engineered with the highest performance carding equipment available and will allow HDK to expand its offering of products over a wider range of basis weights. The design of the line was based on extensive market and technology research and will significantly increase HDK's existing production capacity.

"HDK's initiative in installing this line is reflective of our commitment to our key customers. This new technology offers the means to advance our product performance while maintaining competitive product costs," said Dave Lunceford, President of HDK Industries. "We strive to provide our customers with a market advantage alongside our core strengths of customer service and quality."

American Trützschler and Erko Trützschler, represented by Batson Group, Inc., were selected for fiber opening, blending and carding processes. With multiple fiber flexibility and a sequential carding footprint, dramatic enhancement of HDK's product capability and optimal product uniformity was achieved. A total of three 3.5 meter cards make the new line one of the most productive nonwoven lines in place anywhere in the world.

The new line also has several proprietary features that will allow product performance enhancements for a variety of applications. HDK currently serves a broad array of markets including filtration, home furnishings, health care, industrial, consumer, packaging, and geotextiles. "HDK's goal is to supply our customers with the products that allow them to lead their respective segments. To accomplish this, we felt that we had to install production technology that surpassed existing industry standards," added Mr. Lunceford.
