Technology platform will enhance patient experience and streamline workflow
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lincor Solutions Inc. today announced it has been selected to provide patient engagement technology to the newly renovated Women's Care Unit at HCA's 760-bed Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. Under the partnership, Lincor will implement its PatientLINC and ClinicalLINC technology in the new $36 million unit, which includes 81 patient rooms.
In addition to providing patients with access to communication services, entertainment content and patient education opportunities through a touch-screen monitor at the bedside, the PatientLINC platform allows clinicians to access a patient's clinical information to share charts, scans and test results with the patient and "prescribe" educational materials that help patients better understand their care prior to discharge. Patients also have access to a menu of entertainment options including television, video-on-demand, games, and audiobooks, as well as Internet, email and voice- and video-call capabilities.
"The addition of the PatientLINC technology gives us the opportunity to create a better environment for our patients, one that allows them to more easily connect to their life outside the hospital," said Kathy Neely, Wesley's chief nursing officer.
Lincor's ClinicalLINC platform further streamlines clinician workflow by providing secure access to clinical information systems through a wall-mounted terminal adjacent to the bedside. An extension of PatientLINC, ClinicalLINC creates an additional access point to the electronic medical record to increase efficiency for clinicians without affecting patient applications. The technology also offers a range of services designed to integrate with critical non-clinical functions such as housekeeping and catering.
"The integration of our hospital, clinical and administrative systems will cut costs and create better workflow efficiencies throughout the hospital all while providing a great patient experience," said Bill Voloch, Wesley's chief operating officer. "It's a win-win for everyone."
"We are delighted to partner with Wesley Medical Center to support their efforts to further elevate patient engagement, satisfaction and clinical outcomes," said Dan Byrne, Lincor's chairman and CEO. "We share their vision of empowering patients by giving them the tools and technology they need to become an active participant in their care."
