The DEKRA EXAM GmbH presented the EC type examination certificates for the FFS systems and net weighers
Dust from combustible organic or chemical substances is dangerous. It exists any place where loose, bulk materials are packed. Even the smallest of sparks can trigger an explosion. This is why packing machinery manufacturer HAVER & BOECKER manufactures explosion-protective packing machines that are put together according to different criteria using the modular system.
HAVER & BOECKER has recently succeeded in expanding its explosion expertise. This was confirmed at the end of 2011 when German certification agency DEKRA presented the EC type examination certificates. The certificates for the FFS system and net weighers, i.e. the fully automatic systems, were handed over during a small celebration.
This makes the time-consuming and costly single examination by the certification agency redundant, meaning that authorised persons of HAVER & BOECKER may approve standard machines for explosion protection zones by themselves. The DEKRA EXAM GmbH only needs to conduct the annual monitoring of production quality assurance. This results in a considerable reduction in organisational effort and the single examination expenses.
An EC type examination for open bag techniques has been unique up to now in the packaging sector. The type examination is valid for many different machine variants. The same applies for net weighers. HAVER & BOECKER therefore underscores its 125-year expertise in the field of explosion protection, whether in mine lamps or the fine wire mesh in them for preventing the ignition of explosive methane gas in mines.
