Grupo Modelo Taps Allot to Set New Quality of Service Standards for its Multiservice Global Network

Mexico's largest beer producer relies on NetEnforcer and NetExplorer products to turn business priorities into network realities

Minneapolis, Minn. - Dec., 4, 2007 - Allot Communications (NASDAQ:ALLT), a leader in IP service optimization solutions based on deep packet inspection (DPI), today announced that Mexico's Grupo Modelo has selected Allot's NetExplorer and NetEnforcer bandwidth management solutions to manage network traffic and improve overall Quality of Service (QoS) for its global enterprise network.

Producing and delivering an estimated 60 billion liters of beer to customers in more than 150 countries is a tall order by any standard, so when Grupo Modelo undertook the task of establishing new QoS standards for its global enterprise network, it turned to Allot and its bandwidth management solutions.

Considered one of the company's strategic business entities, Grupo Modelo's large and complex network is tasked with transporting and managing critical data and applications used to operate seven brewing plants and a vast marketing and distribution business featuring 17 brands including Corona Extra, the #1 Mexican beer sold in the world.

As the demands of Grupo Modelo's network grew, so did the challenge of controlling congestion and bandwidth consumption, and maintaining visibility of network traffic. After deciding to develop new QoS standards and carefully investigating alternatives, the company chose to deploy the NetEnforcer traffic management devices and NetExplorer management software to provide network administrators the depth of insight and analysis they required.

"Since the implementation of the Allot platform we are better able to control traffic, improve our response time to customers, and convert business priorities into network realities," said Claudio C. M. Decanio, Sr. Manager of Telecommunications and Perimeter Security for Grupo Modelo.

"Grupo Modelo's successful use of the Allot platform demonstrates how our DPI technology can produce tangible benefits for the enterprise and enhance the value of a major asset," said Vin Costello, vice president and general manager of the Americas, Allot Communications."

"Thanks to the comprehensive visibility we have gained, we can also evaluate the effect of new applications in real-time without interrupting daily operations and respond faster to events affecting the performance of our metropolitan, national, and worldwide data network," added Decanio.
