New Coarse Thread Design Reduces Paper Burrs and Lasts Longer

Alpine, UT - www.grabberman.com/ , an international distributor of professional-grade fasteners and construction products, announces the expansion of its pioneering line of Scavenger® Head Screws with Grabber's exclusive head design, which reduces paper burrs in drywall. Until recently, Scavenger screws were only available in fine thread (for light gauge steel) and drill point (for heavy grade steel) configurations. Grabber is now also offering the Scavenger Head Screw in coarse thread for attachment to wood.

Scavenger Head Screws save time and money
As typical drywall screws are driven, they tend to leave behind paper burrs. These paper burrs require more mud to cover and more sanding and finishing time, resulting in lost time and higher labor costs. Grabber Scavenger Head Screws are designed to seat flush consistently and help to reduce or eliminate paper burrs.

Scavenger Head Screws feature a ProFit recess for a positive drive and fewer cam-outs, and their consistent heat treatment reduces screw head failure and shear off. Extra high-grade steel increases reliability and holding power, while sharper threads and points improve drivability and penetration into wood and metal.

A Scavenger Head Screw for every need
For interior wood and drywall, the Scavenger Head Coarse Thread attaches gypsum and insulation board to wood. The Scavenger Head Streaker®, suitable for light gauge metal and wood, is capable of attaching gypsum board to 25-20-gauge steel and wood. And the Scavenger Head Driller for heavy gauge metal attaches gypsum and insulation board to 20-14-gauge metal studs. The Scavenger Head Coarse Thread and the Scavenger Head Streaker are available in gray phosphate coating, while the Scavenger Head Driller is coated in clear zinc. All three models use a No. 2 Phillips recess.
