Goodhart Sons Inc. Announces New Pipe Fabrication Facility

Press release date: August 8, 2014

Goodhart Sons Inc., a 79-year-old non-union ASME code shop, industrial fabricator and erector serving both domestic and international clientele, has announced development of a new pipe fabrication facility at their Lancaster, PA headquarters. Creation of the new facility, which will be located in existing space previously utilized for machining and miscellaneous metal fabrication, is being driven by customer demand for additional pipe fabrication capacity and capability. Key to the expansion decision were multiple factors including:

• Increased demand from existing customers
• Inquiries from Marcellus Shale owners and contractors needing additional capacity options
• Southeast owners and fabricators requesting overflow support
• Multiple EPCs OEMs asking for pipe fabrication quotes as an add-on to stack, duct and tank/vessel inquiries

As part of this new expansion, material capabilities will expand to include chrome and alloy materials as a supplement to Goodhart Sons Inc. existing carbon and stainless steel fabrication offerings. Size range capability will also increase to include up to 48” diameter material.

Another key component to the expansion effort has been the development of a new internal estimating tool that will allow for rapid project estimating. This new estimating tool has been designed to simplify the estimating process whether using weld counts, fitting densities or standard material take-offs to determine labor pricing. It is anticipated that this new system will optimize estimating processes and improve estimating accuracy.

Goodhart Sons, Inc. is a fully equipped steel fabricator and installer located in Lancaster, PA. with more than 175,000 square feet of production space. They are ASME Section VIII, Division I board certified in possession of their R, S and U stamps as well as an AISC Member.
