Go Paperless and View Your Plant's Process at a Glance

CAS DataLoggers and Brainchild Display Your Data in Real-Time

CHESTERLAND OH – Across the country, manufacturing plants depend on obsolete paper chart recorders to track their machine and equipment temperatures, but printing all this data on hardcopy takes time and is a hassle to organize and archive. Naturally these devices are becoming increasingly hard to service and find replacement parts for. Rather than hunt for this info all day, you can just call CAS DataLoggers and check out our bestselling Brainchild Paperless Chart Recorders as an economical replacement. These data loggers feature an LCD display to bring your data to life and streamline process data and archiving. Monitor, record and evaluate your process with just a glance!

Whether your plant's application is in the food and beverage, chemical, or automotive industry, now you can make sure your process is operating at the correct values with these portable data loggers. The built-in display allows for clear review of real time data on its high-resolution 6.4' VGA Color LCD display (true VGA, 640x480 pixels) with flexible screen configuration and multiple display formats for viewing the data. The Brainchild features up to 6 isolated analog input channels for measuring voltage and current as well as temperature from thermocouples or RTDs at high accuracy, and also offers 6 user-configurable plug and play I/O card slots.

The datalogger has a fast sampling rate within 200msec for all 6 channels and also boasts several mathematical and programmable capabilities including statistics with instant, average, and min/max values. The Brainchild also features digital I/O and standard Ethernet/optional RS-232/RS-422/RS485 communication allowing you to access onscreen data and perform remote monitoring via the RS serial interface or Ethernet networking. Easy setup and operation give you a quick start on your project, and you can choose to store your historical data on a remote host PC for data evaluation and print-out, or the device itself via Flash ROM and the removable compact Flash memory card's 128MB storage space. You can also configure the recorder's variable alarms and messages to get instant notification whenever critical events occur including rising machine temperatures or low voltage periods.

Our paperless chart recorders are completely stand-alone solutions with interactive dialogue and convenient soft function keys enabling convenient navigation. Data retention is specified at a minimum of 10 years with zero power data retention. The device's expandable modular architecture offers high flexibility and offers optional panel mount and bench top/portable configurations.

For especially demanding projects, we also offer Brainchild's 18-channel Paperless Chart Recorder. This expanded model offers you up to 18 input channels for voltage, current, thermocouples or RTDs.

CAS DataLoggers Technical Support Specialist Brent Irwin comments on the reliability of paperless chart recorders: "Our Brainchild chart recorders are rock-solid and can log several of the values that keep your process running. They're popular with plant and factory applications but also with medical and lab projects where users need to check their data at a moment's notice."
