Company Provides Telepresence Management via Cisco-Certified Network

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. - Building on its fully managed video collaboration services portfolio, Global Crossing (Nasdaq: GLBC), a leading global IP solutions provider, today announced it is adding Cisco's (Nasdaq: CSCO) complete line of high-quality and easy-to-use virtual telepresence meeting solutions to its existing telepresence offer. Global Crossing is providing this telepresence service via its world-class Internet Protocol (IP) network, which is now Cisco-certified for telepresence connectivity.

By working together with Cisco, Global Crossing strengthens its comprehensive portfolio of Global Crossing Collaboration Solutions and adds the choice of the best-selling telepresence solution to its existing telepresence offer. These innovative collaboration tools, consisting of Global Crossing Ready-Access® audio, web and video collaboration services and telepresence solutions, enhance decision-making, reduce travel costs, lower carbon footprints and increase productivity for customers worldwide.

Telepresence uses high-definition video and audio technologies to create a true-to-life experience for more effective business meetings. Central to the success of this technology is a global IP network with industry leading performance metrics combined with a management team that delivers a high-caliber "concierge" customer service.

"As a leading telepresence provider, we're excited to be working with Global Crossing to deliver managed telepresence solutions to our customers," said Rick Snyder, vice president of global business, telepresence video sales with Cisco Channel Partners. "Now that Global Crossing's IP global network is Cisco-certified, we are assured the reliability and reach that comes with a leading global IP player."

The new offer, called "Global Crossing Telepresence together with Cisco Services," bolsters Global Crossing's telepresence initiative it began in 2010. Global Crossing has installed Cisco's telepresence rooms in several of its key locations throughout the U.S., UK and Brazil. Employees in those locations are experiencing increased productivity and reduced travel through Cisco's life-like and flexible face-to-face meetings.

"We continue to enrich our global telepresence offer so our customers and employees around the world can experience the many benefits of life-like virtual meetings," said Warren Baxley, Global Crossing's vice president of collaboration services product management. "Joining forces with Cisco demonstrates our commitment to telepresence technology and managed video applications as they become formidable drivers of future bandwidth consumption in this growing market."

According to Gartner, the market for telepresence systems is expected to grow at 25.7 percent per year through 2013, on a base of approximately $547 million in 2010. This growth is double the rate of growth for the overall video endpoint population, and nearly the same as the growth expected in desktop endpoints.(1)
