Gerber Technology Appoints New Director of Marketing Communications


17 July 2007 - Connecticut, U.S.A. - Gerber Technology has appointed Cynthia Mahlstedt to the position of director, marketing communications. In this new role, Mahlstedt will be responsible for the development and implementation of a cohesive, worldwide marketing communications strategy to support the company's overall objectives. She will oversee initiatives including brand management, public relations, marketing communications collateral and events, website design and telemarketing.

Mahlstedt comes to Gerber with more than 14 years of diverse experience in marketing communications, public relations and marketing. She most recently held the position of marketing manager at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, East Hartford, Conn., where she was responsible for performing market assessments, developing key messages and value propositions, and serving as the point person for the European sales region. Prior to this role, she was manager of marketing communications for Reflexite Americas. Her background also includes public relations roles in various PR firms. Mahlstedt earned her bachelor's degree in mass communications and public relations, with a Spanish concentration, from Boston University.
