Genie, a Terex Company

Redmond, WA, 98052
USA

Press release date: February 17, 2009

REDMOND, WASH. (February 17, 2009) - Terex Corporation (NYSE:TEX) announced today that the Genie®, Terex® and Loegering® brands will be represented at the American Rental Association (ARA) tradeshow in Atlanta, GA in booths #6152 and #6555, March 2 - 5, 2009. This marks the 39th year in a row that Genie® equipment will be displayed at the show, a clear demonstration of the Company's ongoing commitment and support of the rental industry.

"The ARA tradeshow provides a venue to meet face to face with our customers during these tough economic times," said Tim Ford, President, Terex Aerial Work Platforms (AWP). "We value the opportunity to discuss how we can best work together throughout the year to improve their businesses. Our attendance at the show underscores our commitment to the importance of the rental channel and the industry as a whole."

Making their North American debut, two new Genie® products will be on display at the show:

Genie® S(TM)-85 Telescopic Boom
The newly redesigned Genie® S(TM)-85 is engineered to optimize value through greater uptime and lower cost of ownership. Multiple design enhancements improve the productivity of this model. Fixed width axles provide a smooth transition from transport to working on the job. An exclusive virtual pivot boom assembly keeps the weight of the boom over the chassis, reducing the amount of counterweight needed. Improved ground and platform control boxes feature simple color graphics and have been redesigned with like functions grouped together. The new control system provides a swift 68 second ascent and smooth comfortable operation. Serviceability has also been enhanced; the former shotgun style cylinder boom assembly has been replaced with a single cylinder and sequencing cable system. Many of the hydraulic hoses on the swing chassis have been replaced with hard lines that provide consistent routing, longer life and easier maintenance.

Genie® GRC(TM)-12 Runabout Contractor
The new Genie® GRC(TM)-12 Runabout Contractor is designed to withstand the rigors of tough indoor construction sites. The steel platform on the GRC(TM)-12 comes standard with a slide-out extension deck that gives operators an extra 17.5 in of outreach. The GRC(TM)-12 is designed to be efficient in small spaces, with capacity for up to two workers and zero inside turning radius. The GRC(TM)-12 is engineered with a steel platform and rails, and the telescoping mast is encased in steel, giving it additional protection against worksite debris. This unit also boasts a narrow 2 ft 5.5 in width by 4 ft 5.75 in length profile, allowing the unit to fit in most passenger elevators and to be driven through doorways with an operator onboard. Key serviceability features include a quick disconnect platform, large service doors to easily access maintenance components, and an easy to access mast hydraulic cylinder for efficient servicing.

Genie® and Terex® equipment is designed and engineered with serviceability and operator comfort in mind. Common parts and components are used across the entire range. This enables technicians to be familiar with service procedures when moving between different models and product owners also benefit from stocking the same commonly used maintenance parts to use when needed, no matter what model requires servicing. This is yet another way Genie® and Terex® products add value to any fleet.
