Company named Editors Choice in publication's Tech Support Showdown; Gateway NX570X Notebook distinguished as Ultimate Choice 2007
IRVINE, Calif., July 24 / / -- Delivering on its promise to deliver first-rate products and services that exceed customers' expectations, Gateway (NYSE: GTW) today announced that it was recognized with a LAPTOP Editors' Choice award in the publication's recent Tech Support Showdown 2007, receiving an overall grade of "A" for its industry-leading phone and web support.
In addition, the publication gave the Gateway® NX570X notebook an Ultimate Choice 2007 award in the mainstream notebook class, touting the notebook as "our current favorite all-purpose notebook."

LAPTOP's Tech Support Showdown 2007 tested the service offerings of nine leading notebook manufacturers. The publication experienced wait times for Gateway ranging from less than a minute to only two minutes -- the shortest wait time range among all nine vendors tested. The publication was also impressed once the calls were answered. LAPTOP stated that calls made to Gateway support were answered quickly and completely, noting that technical support representatives were "knowledgeable about our issue" and handled the process "with ease." Gateway's web support site was lauded by LAPTOP, noting that in addition to driver and manual downloads, it also provides "succinct directions with step-by-step screenshots." Gateway designed its support website to be easy to navigate; it works based on the model numbers of the PC and provides answers to a range of common questions PC customers have.
Additionally, LAPTOP awarded the Gateway NX570X with an Ultimate Choice 2007 designation. The review praised the notebook's "road-ready design" that features a scratch-resistant case that "feels good to the touch" and "is impervious to fingerprints." The publication also hailed the NX570X's dual- core power with Intel Core 2 Duo processors and exceptional battery life of up to five hours using the 8-cell battery, which is "excellent" for this class of notebook.
