GE Inspection Technologies Completes Acquisition of Phoenix X-Ray


Acquisition expands GE Inspection Technologies' X-ray offerings to include
3D CT, micro- and nano-technology systems

Billerica, MA, USA - October 26, 2007 - GE Inspection Technologies, a unit of General Electric Company (NYSE:GE), announced today that it has completed the acquisition of Phoenix X-ray, a leader in high-resolution computed tomography (CT) / X-ray technology used in non-destructive testing (NDT) applications. The transaction, terms of which are not being disclosed, was completed upon receipt of required regulatory approvals.

The acquisition broadens GE's offerings for NDT customers in various industries, including aerospace, power generation, oil & gas and automotive, by adding Phoenix X-ray's innovative 3D CT, micro- and nano-technology systems to GE Inspection Technologies' current X-ray and NDT portfolio. In addition, Phoenix X-ray's customers in both the industrial and microelectronics segment will benefit from GE's global presence, technology depth and broad range of NDT products, systems and services.
