Press release date: June 27, 2007

MADRID, SPAIN-June 27, 2007-GE Energy has signed a contract with PAPELERA GUIPUZCOANA DE ZICUAGA S.A. to provide an LM6000-PD Sprint aeroderivative gas turbine generator for its paper mill in Hernani, Spain. A 12-year contractual services agreement with full coverage and availability guarantee is under negotiation.

The LM6000-PD gas turbine generator will generate approximately 47 megawatts and is based on 80 tons per hour of super-heated steam at 64 barg pressure and temperatures of 450 degrees Celsius. It is equipped with a dry low emissions combustion system for NOx abatement down to 50mg/Nms3. The waste heat recovery unit will be equipped with a supplementary firing system.

Approximately 20 megawatts of power generated will be used for feeding the paper mill, while the excess power will be sold to the national utility. The unit will operate in combined cycle, continuous duty at the paper mill plant where steam supply availability is critical. Pipeline quality natural gas is the primary fuel. Shipment is scheduled for August 2007 with an anticipated commercial operation date of February 2008.

Our LM6000-PD Sprint machine will allow PAPELERA GUIPUZCOANA DE ZICUAGA S.A. to operate its paper mill in a more efficient and cost-effective manner, said Charles (Chip) Blankenship, general manager of GE Energy's aeroderivative division.
