JENBACH, AUSTRIA - March 30: Reflecting the demand by textile mills and other industrial customers for reliable on-site power solutions in recent years, GE Energy's Jenbacher gas engine business in March sold its 500th engine system in Pakistan.
The milestone sale of the natural gas-fueled generator set to a food industry customer was secured by Orient Energy Systems Ltd., GE Energy's authorized Jenbacher gas engines distributor in Pakistan.
Since the late 1990s, GE's installed Jenbacher units in Pakistan have reached a combined total of about five million hours of smooth operation, underscoring the engines' durability and reliability.
In Pakistan, such performance factors are crucial to industrial operators seeking cost-effective and uninterrupted sources of on-site power - instead of relying on the regional grid for electricity - to help them achieve their production targets and anticipate, as well as lower, their operational costs. GE's gas engines are known for their high efficiency, low operating costs and high reliability. The engines combine a high output density with low exhaust emissions and cost-effectiveness. "Achieving this milestone of 500 engines in Pakistan means a lot to our business. It is a strong sign that our customers in the region trust in the product and our service," said Prady Iyyanki, CEO of GE Energy's Jenbacher gas engine business. "An essential part of GE Energy's success around the world is its commitment to customer service, as demonstrated in Pakistan by our collaboration with Orient Energy Systems. We share the goal of earning the trust of even more industrial and municipal customers in the future."
