GE Energy Names Joseph Anis to Lead Middle East Region


DUBAI, UAE - May 30, 2007 - GE Energy today announced that Joseph Anis has been appointed Region Executive for the Middle East. Anis, a 10-year GE veteran, had been leading GE Energy's power generation sales activities for the Middle East and Africa.
"In this role Joe will be responsible for driving GE Energy's growth and execution in the region across the entire GE Energy portfolio," said James Suciu, President of Sales for GE Energy. "Under his leadership, the power generation business has seen strong growth in the region."
Anis began his career with GE in 1997 at the GE Power Controls joint venture in Cairo. He moved to GE Energy in 2000 as the e-Business Leader for the Africa, India and Middle East region. In 2001, Anis was appointed Power Generation Sales Manager for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and in 2005 was appointed Power Generation Sales Manager for the Middle East and Africa.

GE Energy has a long-standing presence in the Middle East dating to the 1930s and now employs more than 600 people in the region. The company has offices throughout the region including UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain. Regional headquarters for GE Energy are located in Dubai, UAE, where Anis makes his office.
