Lawson Financial and Enterprise Performance Management Applications to Help Marine Terminal Operator Fuse Business Systems, Gain Operational Insight

ST. PAUL, Minn.-Nov. 19, 2007-Lawson Software (Nasdaq:LWSN) today announced that GCT Global Container Terminals Inc. licensed the Lawson S3 Enterprise Performance Management and Enterprise Financial Management Suites. The company selected the Lawson enterprise software solutions to help consolidate current business systems and provide operational insight and analysis of financial data. The contract was signed during Lawson's first quarter of fiscal 2008, which ended Aug. 31, 2007. Lawson Professional Services will provide implementation services for the project.

GCT comprises four marine container terminals in North America, including New York Container Terminal, Staten Island, N.Y.; Global Terminal and Container Systems LLC, Bayonne, N.J.; and TSI Terminal Systems Inc.'s Deltaport and Vanterm facilities in Delta and Vancouver, British Columbia. Container terminals are the interface between sea and land-based container transport, where containers are either loaded onto ships from trucks or trains or are unloaded from ships for further transport by either truck or rail to their destinations.

"With multiple terminal locations, we sought a financial solution that could quickly give us organization-wide insight at a low total cost of ownership," said Brian Pettipas, chief financial officer, GCT Global Container Terminals Inc. "With Lawson's help, we will be able to improve our financial data visibility across all of our terminals and provide actionable information to the right people at the right time."

After a detailed review of software solutions, GCT selected Lawson for its ability to create a single access point for entering and retrieving consolidated financial data. Additionally, the Lawson Enterprise Performance Management Suite will support the company's need for organization-wide business intelligence with reporting and analysis through role-based dashboards. As a result, the Lawson applications will help GCT reduce administrative costs and provide decision-makers at all levels of the company with the information they need to quickly capitalize on business opportunities, take corrective action and mitigate risk.

"Transportation companies need comprehensive business solutions that are simple to deploy and easy to use," said Robert Peterson, marketing director, Industry Markets, Lawson Software. "Our products and services are designed to help transport companies instill discipline, predictability and certainty into their day-to-day business processes."
