GCC, a global forefront equipment-manufacturing provider in the visual communication industry, is delighted to announce the availability of Spirit/Spirit LS 20W 9.3um models, a better laser source to work with PET / PETE material.
Cutting PET / PETE material with the usual 10.6µm Co2 laser may result in some amount of out-gassing due to incomplete absorption, which sometimes stains the edges near the cut surface while thicker materials may exhibit more edge melting at the cut. Now, this problem does not appear if the 9.3µm laser is used. The less common 9.3-µm Co2 wavelength is better absorbed by PET / PETE, resulting in much less out-gassing and melting.
