GAF Decking Systems Introduces Certified Contractor Program

WAYNE, NJ - In 2010, GAF Decking Systems introduced the DuraLife(TM) Natural Grain Collection, along with several other improvements to the GAF Decking System family. As part of its ongoing effort to help decking systems contractors build their businesses, GAF Materials Corporation now provides a Certified Contractor Program for their DuraLife(TM) Certified Decking System Installers. The free program supplies an array of support tools for contractors, including lead generation programs, cost reduction plans, educational courses and business-building tools.

As part of the program, GAF offers its System Plus Ltd. Warranty exclusively to DuraLife(TM) Certified Decking System Installers, which includes coverage of labor and material up to 30 years. Aiding in the generation of quality leads, the program includes SmartMail(TM) web-based direct mail services, customizable outdoor banners, lawn advertisements, custom website creation and hosting, and a Certified Decking System Installer Locator through the www.gaf.com website. Contractors can take advantage of the Angie's List® referral program and the ServiceMagic® lead generation program.

Also accessed through www.gaf.com, is the Certified Contractor Zone. This secure, password-protected site is designed to be a one-stop resource for a wide variety of programs, services, and business-building tools. The portal provides easy access to details on enrollment status, enhanced warranty activity, web leads, and survey results, as well as housing instruction manuals, certification, and product logos.

Decking & Railing Excellence through Advanced Mentoring (DREAM) is an educational organization sponsored by GAF Decking Systems dedicated to improving the industry through excellence in education. Courses focus on installation best practices, estimating new materials, and world class sales training tailored to selling deck and rail systems to homeowners, property managers, and commercial clients.

"GAF has found such success with its Certified Contractor Program in the roofing arena that it was a natural progression to create one for our decking systems contractors," said Emily Cavanagh, senior product manager at GAF. "Participating contractors can realize so many benefits to help grow their businesses and homeowners have the advantage of knowing that their contractor is one of the best in the business and is certified by a leading manufacturer."

Other benefits for contractors include special discounts negotiated with Staples, Ford, Dell, Sprint, ContractorGuard(TM) Insurance, the Certified Contractors Network, and major credit card carriers to help GAF certified contractors keep costs down.
