SE Relays LLC - Magnecraft Brand
191 Waukegan Rd.
Northfield, IL, 60093
USA

Press release date: October 20, 2008

Northfield, IL, October 15, 2008- SE Relays LLC offers a full line of RoHS compliant Magnecraft brand Printed Circuit Board (PCB) relays. The updated line includes relays rated up to 10 amps.

The Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive limits the use of certain substances in electrical and electronic equipment considered dangerous for health and the environment. The latest product to achieve RoHS compliant status is the Magnecraft 49 Series relay: a compact, electromechanical PCB relay used to switch resistive and inductive loads in industrial applications. To comply with the directive, the cadmium that was originally used in the popular 49 Series relays was removed from the contacts.

The RoHS compliant version of the 49 series relays maintains all of the critical performance rating characteristics including: resistive general purpose, resistive, motor and pilot duty B300 as verified by Underwriters Laboratories per UL508 standard. "Going green and minimizing how our products impact the environment is top priority at SE Relays. For that reason, I am pleased to bringthe 49 printed circuit board relays be brought to a ROHS compliant status, while maintaining all of the critical performance characteristics," states Dipin Jain, Marketing Product Manager for SE Relays.

The Magnecraft PCB relay line includes electromechanical and reed relays. The wide product range provides a solution for all common relay applications due to the variety in mounting configurations, contact ratings and control circuitry.

To assist in the proper selection of printed circuit board relays, the Magnecraft website includes The PCB & Reed Relay Learning Tool. The educational tool and illustrates the key differences between the two types of relays and highlights the features and benefits of Magnecraft's electromechanical PCB and reed relays.
