Press release date: August 23, 2010

Installations of the highly demanded flat panel detector begin today

WASHINGTON- Today at the 2010 American Healthcare Radiology Administrators (AHRA) conference, FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc. announced that it has begun shipping the recently FDA cleared FDR D-EVO(TM) flat panel detector. As U.S. installations of the product begin today, radiology administrators and their departments will begin benefiting from the seamless transition to DR and the exceptional image quality provided by the light weight 14" x 17" detector.

"Since the introduction of the FDR D-EVO(TM) at RSNA 2009 we have seen unprecedented pre-release demand for the product," says Rob Fabrizio, Fujifilm's senior marketing manager, Imaging Systems. "Whether using the FDR D-EVO(TM) to convert from analog, or as a complement to a digital room, facilities will clearly benefit from the seamless transition to DR imaging."

Community Hospital of Indianapolis, Ind. and St. Josephs Community Health Services of Hillsboro, Wis. are among the first to install and use the smartly-designed product. At just six pounds it is currently the lightest-weight 14"x17" flat panel detector. A fast and efficient system, it uses secure connectivity to transmit images to the technologist's workstation in as little as three seconds with cycle times of only nine seconds. And with Fujifilm's patented Irradiation Side Sampling (ISS) technology it provides significant image detail and dose efficiency, producing x-rays with enhanced sharpness and reduced noise.
