McMinnville, OR, 97128

Press release date: April 22, 2011

(McMinnville, OR) Freelin-Wade (www.freelin-wade.com) is pleased to announce that last night it was awarded the Mary Pearmine Workforce Leadership Award for Best Practices by a Team. The award is presented annually by Job Growers Incorporated, to the team in Marion, Polk or Yamhill County, who best exemplifies a strong commitment to supporting a highly skilled workforce. They must go "above and beyond" the expected call of duty to further workforce training efforts.

On behalf of Freelin-Wade employees, Jon Briggs and Mick Forlines, both supervisors at Freelin-Wade, accepted the award. The presentation came during the Sparkle of Excellence dinner at the Willamette Heritage Center at The Mill in Salem, OR.

After receiving the award, Jon Briggs said, "Being recognized for something we are committed to, and believe so deeply in, is really gratifying. Every day we work at being more efficient and having the best skilled, best trained workforce that we can. We consider this effort to be the key to our ability to compete on a global scale."

Freelin-Wade General Manager Sherl Hill was also in attendance. She said, "This is all about them. As managers, we can hire people and provide them with an environment to succeed, but it always comes down to the leaders on the floor and the motivation of the team members. This award recognizes the excellence of our employees and I really couldn't be more proud."

Job Growers Incorporated (www.workforce-solutions.net), formerly known as the Enterprise for Employment and Education, is a public-private partnership dedicated to strategic workforce solutions. The Mary Pearmine award recognizes the winner's passion for continuous improvement in workforce skill development and for their commitment and energy. Their efforts have the economic impact of building the resource that can be the single greatest factor in a company's success, its people.

Mary Pearmine was a strong member of the Job Growers Board and an advocate for the workforce development community. The first woman to ever be elected to the position of Marion County Commissioner, she used her considerable energies to focus on pulling together often divergent points of view to benefit workforce, economic and community development.
