San Diego, CA - January 11, 2006 - FocalSpot, Inc. (www.focalspot.com), a leading provider of affordable BGA/SMT inspection and rework solutions to the EMS marketplace, announced today the expansion of their corporate office and manufacturing facilities. The driving force behind this expansion was due to broad global acceptance of FocalSpot's innovative inspection and rework solutions.
"As a result of our ongoing success in providing low-cost, high-performance x-ray inspection and rework solutions to electronics manufacturers, Focalspot, Inc. is doubling its size to meet growing production demands," said Mr. Fred Schlieper, President and CEO of FocalSpot, Inc. "As we expand into new geographic markets, these facilities will provide us greater production capacity and the infrastructure for ongoing product developments - some of which will be announced at APEX 2006, continued Mr. Schlieper."
Facility construction began in early December 2005 and is scheduled for completion in mid-January 2006. FocalSpot, Inc. is located in the Scripps Ranch area of San Diego County, California. Facilities will include: General administrative business operations, demonstration and training rooms, manufacturing, assembly, equipment/parts warehousing, and a spacious applications/prototype lab.
