Press release date: November 8, 2006

DRAPER, Utah- Flexpoint Sensor Systems, Inc. (OTCBB: FLXT - News) today announced the company is working with a major automotive supplier on development of a new Bend Sensor® automotive application that reminds occupants to buckle their seat belts when the vehicle is started. This technology is commonly found in today's marketplace and the company believes they can provide a superior product at a lower cost.

"As manufacturers and suppliers continue to test our Bend Sensor®, they are discovering new applications and additional uses for the technology," stated Flexpoint's Director of Engineering, David Beck. "A Seat Belt Reminder is commonly found in all new vehicles and is an ideal application for our Bend Sensor® technology. Implementing such a device and bringing it to market is expedited by all of our previous work in seat applications, thereby significantly reducing the design and testing phase."

The Seat Belt Reminder Sensor is placed under the vehicle's seat(s) to detect the presence of an occupant or other objects on the seat. Once the sensor detects an occupant, it activates an alert which could include a light, sound or both to remind the driver or passenger to fasten the seat belt. These devices are currently required in both front seats, and could be required in all seats in Europe in the near future.

The SBR System includes a minimum weight threshold, set by the manufacturer, to prevent the system from activating when a brief case or bag of groceries is placed on the seat. The European market has specific requirements for this type of device, creating a large market opportunity for this technology.

"We are very excited about this device and its potential in the marketplace," stated Flexpoint's CEO, Clark Mower. "We have developed a working prototype that has produced excellent results. Unlike our Pedestrian Detection System where we are working with the manufacturers and suppliers from scratch, this device replaces systems currently on the market with a system we believe features greater reliability at a significantly lower price point."

Flexpoint Sensor Systems, Inc.
