Vecoplan's VST-42e Mobile Shredding System won the first in an ongoing series of one-on-one Shred Truck challenges on December 4, 2008. Part of a direct mail promotion initiated by Vecoplan to establish verifiable throughput ratios, in lbs. per hr., for both their trucks and those of their competition, the contest includes an instant winner prize of $1,000.00 paid to any security shredding company whose shred truck outperforms Vecoplan's truck in head to head competition.
This contest pitted Vecoplan's VST-42e against one of the newest and best-known shred trucks on the market today. Loose paper documents were the material used and both trucks were feed using the shredding company's 64-gallon totes. The final score was 34 totes processed by Vecoplan to 24 totes processed by the competition in a one-hour time period. All variables were established, agreed upon, and certified, by both Vecoplan and the secure shredding company attempting to win the $1,000.00 prize, as being equal and fair.

Individual competitions are held at the security shredding company's location, using whatever material the company wishes to provide for shredding by any truck they are currently using vs. Vecoplan's truck.
