New Vital Security(TM) Web Appliances and RUSafe Mode Keep Finjan Customers Ahead of Malicious Web Threats, the Top Threat to Enterprise Computers
SAN JOSE, California, January 23 - Finjan Inc., the global provider of proactive web security solutions for businesses and organizations, today announced the release of its upgraded line of Vital Security(TM) Web Appliances, featuring the brand new NG-6100 appliance for enterprises with high availability requirements. Finjan also announced the availability of its RUSafe mode, an exciting new tool that allows organizations to scan content in "sniffer" mode, without affecting their existing infrastructure. The new and upgraded Finjan offerings introduce significant enhancements in the areas of performance and high availability to comply with enterprises' demanding requirements. In terms of security, Finjan's offerings continue to provide the highest level of protection against malicious web content, recognized as the number one threat to enterprise networks.
The Vital Security Web Appliance hardware and software upgrades include a number of important features that further enhance the already superior security, manageability and performance of Finjan's multi-patented products.
The newest addition to Finjan's line of proactive web security appliances for enterprises is the Vital Security NG-6100 - a gateway solution that utilizes a robust, high availability platform to meet enterprises' stringent reliability and performance requirements. The NG-6100 can be deployed in a centralized manner at a main office, or can provide a high availability scanning solution for branch offices of large enterprises in conjunction with the NG-8100 appliance at enterprise headquarters.
In addition to the new NG-6100 appliance, Finjan has upgraded the existing family of Vital Security Web Appliances - comprising the NG-8100, NG-5100 and NG-1100 - to Finjan's new SUPERFORMANCE platforms, significantly improving performance. The NG-5100 appliance, for example, delivers more than double the throughput performance of previous appliance model. All Vital Security Web Appliances are compliant with the EU RoHS Directive.

The new Finjan RUSafe mode introduces an innovative approach which allows enterprises to mirror live traffic, as specified by the user, scan content using Finjan security engines, and generate traffic logs and reports. In RUSafe mode, the customer can deploy Finjan Vital Security Web Appliance with a very simple configuration and without changes to its existing network topology. Enterprises needing a proof-of-concept for Finjan solutions or a "sniffer" approach to security, can now install RUSafe in parallel to their existing infrastructure, and upgrade easily to "live" mode when needed.
