With 30 years of experience, Falcon Metal has perfected their business and is looking to perfect yours! Our focus at Falcon is on developing cost effective inventory management programs for original equipment manufacturers (OEM).
Falcon serves the OEM market by providing Inventory Management Services for fasteners and other Class "C" production components. Our core competency is managing the parts that are the reverse of the Pareto Principle or the 80/20 rule. We focus on the large number of low value items. Our goal is to reduce our customers' Total Procurement Cost (TPC) for these components.
We have found that managing the "nuisance" production components is not usually an OEM core competency. As a result, their unavailability causes as much as 70% of production downtime. The normal response is to "beef up" on inventory but that doesn't address the root cause. Our "pull" system supports manufacturers' lean efforts by replenishing only when required at the point of use.
Before implementing a system, Falcon conducts a survey to determine the customer's goals and current issues. We develop the system to meet the customer's specific requirements and when we implement an inventory management system, we take full responsibility for insuring the parts are there when needed for production. We don't shut down production lines!
The Falcon system will reduce Total Procurement Cost, maintain a balanced inventory, and reduce/eliminate downtime due to unavailability of low cost production components. We can manage a wide variety of parts which helps the OEM significantly reduce its vendor base. For example, we have replaced over 60 vendors for one of our inventory management accounts.
