Fabco-Air Selects Godlan and SyteLine (Infor 10 ERP Business ) to Optimize Manufacturing Operations

Best known as the manufacturer of the Pancake® cylinder, Fabco-Air offers a complete line of pneumatic components – including cylinders, rotary actuators, slides, grippers, and valves – and also creates custom products designed to customer specifications.
During their search for an ERP solution, Fabco had a set of criteria, including a solution that offered real-time availability on the Web, ecommerce capabilities, 3-D CAD model support, and most importantly, a robust configurator to allow for building the company’s complex products. Fabco needed an intuitive, user-friendly configurator that its staff could easily handle. Mike Russell, IT administrator at Fabco, said, “SyteLine’s configurator is straight-forward, and, unlike other ERP solutions, it requires only one set of rules to maintain external and internal capabilities, cutting our workload in half. It was the obvious choice.”
Fabco will also benefit from having fully-integrated systems, enabling employees to access critical information quickly. “Having continuity among systems will make a huge difference – everything is cross linked. If I need a sales order or a purchase order, I can look up anything in SyteLine with a part number or a PO number, which we have been unable to do for years,” said Russell. “SyteLine (Infor10 ERP Business) will improve our operations in numerous areas and allow us to offer even better service to our customers.”
For nearly two decades, Fabco relied on GrowthPower, an MRP II system, to manage operations. “Our current software package did not offer website connectivity or the ability to provide real-time information to us or to our distributors,” explained Russell. “Plus, we no longer had support for some of our custom code and even the hardware was near its end of life. We needed a replacement,” he added.
