FLEXcon Promotes Michael Merwin to Marketing Development Specialist

FLEXcon, an innovator of off-the-shelf and custom pressure-sensitive adhesives, has announced the promotion of Technical Service Representative Michael Merwin to the position of Market Development Specialist.

"Mike does an outstanding job for FLEXcon's Performance Products Business Team. He has more than three decades of experience that converters, fabricators as well as OEMs have come to rely on when they are seeking adhesion and noise and vibration damping solutions," says William Sullivan, business team vice president. "As OEMs continue to specify low-surface energy plastics, we are pleased to have Mike leading FLEXcon's efforts to help converters, fabricators and OEMs who need high-performing, pressure-sensitive adhesives that meet both product and end use-requirements."

In his new role, Merwin will be a resource for thermoformers and molders and help them design products -from automotive components to office equipment to microelectronic devices-with pressure-sensitive adhesives. He began his career at FLEXcon in 1978, and along with other representatives of FLEXcon's Performance Products Business Team, will be on hand at the SPE Thermoforming Conference at the Midwest Airlines Center and Hilton Milwaukee City Center (Milwaukee, Wisconsin) this September.

Merwin and the Performance Products Business Team continue to build upon FLEXcon's strength as a reliable, global supplier of pressure-sensitive adhesives for not only bonding and mounting, but also vibration and noise damping.

FLEXcon offers a range of high-performance, pressure-sensitive adhesive solutions, including:

oV-778, a highly aggressive, permanent pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive ideal for use with LSE plastics, including TPOs;

oV-478, a permanent, pressure-sensitive acrylic ideal for powder-coated surfaces;

oA-483, an adhesive that fills the gap between regular solvent acrylic and silicone adhesives that is ideal for harsh environments, including areas with wide temperature variations, such as electrical and fuse boxes as well as automotive and aerospace components;

oSA6000 Series, tacky silicone adhesives that provide traditional pressure-sensitive adhesive characteristics with the added benefit of continued performance in extremely low or high temperature applications, where acrylic adhesives would not suffice.

At the same time, an application oriented approach ultimately fuels FLEXcon's innovative product development, which in turn, has solved application problems and met specific criteria for a host of innovation from a variety of industries. Whether providing an off-the-shelf construction or developing a custom adhesive, carrier or liner component, the focus is on the application.
