FCE Pharma 2013: Gerresheimer Receives Sindusfarma Award
Dusseldorf/São Paulo – One of the highlights for exhibitors at FCE Pharma (May 14-16) is the presentation of the Sindusfarma Quality Awards. The Sindusfarma industrial association's members represent 85 percent of the Brazilian pharmaceuticals market. This year Gerresheimer Plásticos São Paulo Ltda. will be accepting its 11th award in tribute to the quality of its plastic containers and closures for solid and liquid medications.
"This award is impressive confirmation of Gerresheimer's strong position in the Brazilian market and it proves that our product and quality strategies are right on target," explained Jens Christian Friis, Vice President Plastic Packaging Gerresheimer South America.
The Sindusfarma Quality Awards are the Brazilian pharmaceutical industry's 'Oscars'. They are presented to suppliers of packaging materials, raw materials, machines and equipment, appliances and instruments, and also to service providers. The winners are selected in a two phase process. The first phase involves an online voting facility which enables all Sindusfarma members to submit one vote each. In the second phase, Sindusfarma validates the vote counts in an audit and checks the company employees' qualifications and its quality system.
With four production facilities in Brazil plus one in Argentina, Gerresheimer is the pharmaceutical plastic packaging market leader in South America. The company has a plant in Querétaro, Mexico, which manufactures ampoules, vials and syringes from tubular glass for the Latin American market.
The product portfolio includes dropper bottles for eye drops, spray bottles for nasal sprays, PET bottles for cough medicine, PE containers for tablets, plus a wide range of caps, closures and all kinds of accessories such as dosing caps, droppers, measuring cups, dosing syringes and the product group of applicators.
