8/13/2010 - With a commitment to continuous improvement, F.B. Manion, Inc. (http://www.fbmanion.com) is pleased to announce our Quality Management System is now certified to AS9100. F.B. Manion has achieved the AS9100 certification from QMI-SAI Global. AS9100 is recognized worldwide as the aviation, space and defense industries' standard for quality management systems.
It wasn't long after receiving ISO 9001:2008 certification in 2009 that F.B. Manion realized the need to expand upon its quality management system in an effort to better serve its aerospace customers. To aid in this goal, F.B. Manion simultaneously implemented E2 Shop System software, which helped to unify and streamline the production and quality management systems.
F.B. Manion strives to remain an industry leader in SUPERABRASIVE and CREEP-FEED technology through unique and innovative grinding solutions. We are committed to providing our customers with a value added process, on time delivery, and superior quality.
F.B. Manion has 4th & 5th axis capabilities; which allow us to produce complex radial forms. We can process a number of hard to machine materials such as Superalloys and powdered metals as well as interrupted cuts. Our Creep-Feed capabilities include holding tight tolerance deep slots to surgical knife blade edges. We have been approved for controlled process grinding of plasma coatings. Our processes can be up to 5-times faster than conventional machining or turning with greater accuracy.
F.B. Manion has been supplying the aerospace and commercial industries with machining solutions since 1969. What started out as a small 2-man shop specializing in Centerless Grinding of complex forms eventually grew to include Creep-Feed Grinding and Superabrasive Machining. By the early 90's F.B. Manion saw the need for an improved process in machining superalloys. In 1992 F.B. Manion was one of the first companies to embrace the new emerging HEDG (High Efficiency Deep Grinding) technology. Being involved with this new process from its infancy, F.B. Manion was able to be at the center of its development and a key contributor. That experience has enabled us to remain a leader in Superabrasive machining.
