Extrusion Wire and Mandrels with Teflon® Coating Used as Manufacturing Aid for Cardiovascular Catheters

A line of extrusion wire and forming mandrels with Teflon® coating used as manufacturing aid only for cardio-vascular catheters, balloons and related devices where a clean inside diameter is absolutely critical, is available from Applied Plastics Company Inc, of Norwood, Massachusetts.

Applied Plastics' Extrusion Wire is fabricated using a proprietary etching process that eliminates flaking and permits over 25% elongation to assure a catheter's clean I.D. Supplied on spools or cut to length, this fine extrusion wire features a 0.05 coefficient of friction, allowing manufacturers to increase their cardiovascular catheter output.

Providing a slippery, anti-stick surface, Applied Plastics' Extrusion Wire can be produced using stainless steel, nitinol, platinum, and silver plated copper core wire. Sizes can range from 0.001" to 0.070" dia. with a 0.0001" per side Teflon® coating. Applications include cardiovascular and epidural catheters, formed balloons, and other bio-compatible devices.

Applied Plastics' Extrusion Wire and Mandrels with Teflon® coating are priced according to core wire, coating thickness, length and quantity. Samples, price quotations, and literature are available upon request.
