Press release date: June 2, 2006

Irwin, Pa. (June 2, 2006)-EXTRUDE HONE® Corporation announced today plans to exhibit its new, advanced STORM(TM) cleaning systems, featuring Aqueous Cleaning Technology, at the International Manufacturing Technology (IMTS) Show 2006 in Chicago, from Sept. 6 - 13. Extrude Hone representatives will be available at booth #7100 in the North Hall to discuss the latest advancements to the company's line of precision cleaning equipment.

The ability to produce increasingly cleaner parts has become a competitive differentiator for today's manufacturers. Second only to the actual design, the cleanliness of a workpiece features prominently in its performance. With the new STORM line of cleaning systems, Extrude Hone offers customers-across all industries-a cost-effective custom cleaning solution that significantly increases the cleanliness levels of manufactured workpieces.

Extrude Hone's robust STORM cleaning systems incorporate the best features of the world's most advanced solvent degreasing machines, without the use of potentially harmful solvents. Instead, the STORM systems use water-based Aqueous Cleaning Technology that is environmentally safe for wash, rinse and drying. Additionally, Extrude Hone's STORM systems are one of the few in the industry to incorporate optional high-efficiency vacuum drying capabilities.

The cleanliness levels achieved by the easy to operate, reliable STORM systems are typically into the single digit micron level. Millipore cleanliness levels to 0.02 milligram are obtainable through optional filtration. While these results are particularly important in such industries as automotive, aerospace and medical, all industries can greatly benefit from cleaner workpieces.

Best of all, the STORM cleaning systems are custom engineered to the customers' exact specifications and production needs. The cleaning process will not be compromised nor will customers pay for features or functions that are not necessary.

According to Jim Wawrzyniak, Product Manager, the new STORM cleaning system with advanced processing controls offer benefits that most manufacturers cannot duplicate. "The innovative and one-of-a-kind design of our STORM system-particularly the Cylindrical Process Chamber-is key to meeting today's increasingly more stringent cleanliness requirements for manufactured workpieces," explains Wawrzyniak. "In a small footprint, our STORM system provides advanced aqueous cleaning and the ability to customize the cleaning process at a price that won't strain budgets. Moreover,STORM systems are extremely efficient and reliable with a proven 95 percent or better uptime record."

Extrude Hone offers the STORM advanced cleaning system in two basic models -STORM STR 1 and STORM STR 2-both come in a variety of sizes, ranging from 35- gallon to 65-gallon workpiece capacities (185 lbs. maximum). All STORM systems are modular in concept, which allows for grouping of multiple units into integrated cleaning system performing multiple functions or as a stand-alone, single purpose cleaning solution. A user-friendly, operator interface provides operator prompts for standard and custom part cleaning programs. The control also includes full machine diagnostics and password protection to maintain program integrity.

All units are front-loading for easy workpiece handling and adaptation of accessories. Full automation with the addition of part handling, conveyors, automatic door operation, basket loaders, and related systems controls are also available.

For companies that only require an entry-level cleaning system, yet want the precision cleaning of Aqueous Technology, Extrude Hone also offers a compact, highly efficient alternative to the STORM STR 1 and STR 2 machines: the STORM Cell(TM) system.

IMTS attendees are encouraged to stop by booth #7100 to learn more about Extrude Hone's precision Aqueous Cleaning Technology and the STORM systems, as well as Extrude Hone's general purpose cleaning equipment, other surface finishing, and deburring technologies.
