AST46HA Explosionproof Pressure Transmitters withstand cold, hot, humid and dusty conditions
Mt. Olive, NJ - American Sensor Technologies, Inc. (AST) offers its AST46HA Series of Explosionproof Pressure Transmitters with extended pressure ranges, enhanced construction materials and new certifications to withstand varying harsh conditions present in offshore, marine, deep well drilling, oil processing and mining applications
With extended pressure ranges up to 20,000 PSI, the AST46HA addresses the need for a high pressure, high cycle pressure transmitter in the drilling of deeper wells. Constructed of very thick diaphragms and state-of-the-art silicon strain gages, these Explosionproof Pressure Transmitters offer repeatable results even in the hostile environs of deep well drilling.
In addition to Class 1, Div 1, Groups A, B, C, D approvals that make the transmitters suitable for use in acetylene and hydrogen environments, the AST46HA possesses Class 2, Div 1, Group E, F and G (dust-ignition-proof) approvals for use in mining, cement and other dusty applications. The AST46HA is also ABS approved for offshore and marine applications.
The addition of a Waspalloy material option, in addition to Inconel 718, 17-4 PH, Hastelloy C-276 and 316 L SS wetted parts, further extends these pressure transmitters' use in the processing of heavy oil and high sulfidation. A cobalt-based alloy material, Waspalloy offers excellent corrosion resistance to H2 & H2S. This combination of gases produces a corrosive by-product that causes lesser pressure sensor technologies to embrittle and fail during the refining process of oil and gas. Using Waspalloy gives the Explosionproof Pressure Transmitter better resistance in petroleum applications.
A new fail mode indicator option allows users to choose an output signal that rails or drops during a fault condition, providing better control on how their systems react should sensors failure. For example, if the AST46HA fails while running a system, the output signal can go 5% above the maximum or 5% below the minimum to indicate a transmitter problem. Conditions such as electrical overload or extreme pressure transients cause pressure transmitters to fail. In these events, the customer can control how their systems react to failures.
Vented and non-vented versions of the AST AST46HA are available along with F250C female process ports for robust high-pressure process connections.
