Recent product enhancements extend Vanguard's embedded analytics and reporting offering for OEMs
Glen Ellyn, IL - April 30, 2007 - Exact Vanguard Business Analytics(TM), a leading provider of enterprise business intelligence solutions, and a division of Exact Software(TM), today announced broader support for OEM partnerships based on the recent availability of Version 4.6 of the Vanguard Graphical Performance Series® (GPS). Vanguard GPS is an embeddable enterprise business intelligence solution that enables software vendors in a variety of technology markets to quickly and easily deliver Vanguard's sophisticated business analytics and reporting capabilities as part of their core offerings. Vanguard GPS 4.6 includes a number of new modules and features designed to increase functional breadth, enhance the end-user experience and facilitate the embedding of GPS in other software vendor's product offerings.
GPS 4.6 includes a new financial reporting and consolidation module that leverages GPS's native multi-database access capabilities to significantly streamline the process of creating real-time, consolidated financial reports. The GPS financial reporting hierarchy enables users to easily define financial reporting categories and hierarchical reporting structures. As a result, the module provides a powerful, flexible way to create comprehensive financial reporting and analysis solutions, while also enabling consolidated financial reporting across any number of non-integrated financial databases. This powerful functionality allows Vanguard software partners (OEMs) to deliver complete, integrated analytics to their customers-from multi-database high level financial reporting to fine-grained operational analytics.
In order to support its goal of providing the right functionality, to the right user, in a format that delivers real business value, Vanguard has introduced a new Express User Interface (UI) module with GPS 4.6. The simplified UI provides a low-cost, entry-level option for users who do not require the full, multi-dimensional analytical capabilities of GPS's Business User or Power User interfaces. At the same time, the Express UI retains critical features, such as on-demand data refresh capabilities, with dynamic consolidation across multiple databases; ability to export reports as PDF or Microsoft Excel files; ability to save refreshed views for full off-line use; and seamless integration to more feature-rich UIs. With the introduction of the Express UI, Vanguard has made it simple and cost-effective for customers and OEMs to deploy business analytics to a greater number of users throughout the organization, with minimal training.

Embedding analytics seamlessly into transaction systems requires high levels of interoperability to ensure end user satisfaction. To that end, GPS 4.6 includes a sophisticated database-independent Windows single sign-on capability that can support complex multi-domain deployments. This feature allows authenticated Windows users to securely access the analytics they are authorized to, without having to explicitly enter user and password information, thus enabling a more integrated end user experience. Similarly, on the IT administration side, GPS 4.6 enables software OEMs to provide a single (vendor-specific) point of access control over the analytics (e.g. via a "menu level security" mechanism), with the ability to synchronize the access information into GPS. This allows the vendor application to be enriched with integrated analytics that may be securely launched directly from the native menu system.
