Gothenburg Successfully Hosts Euro PM Congress 2013.

City of Gothenburg hosted Euro PM Congress 2013, which was organized and sponsored by European Powder Metallurgy Association. International event included delegates from nearly 50 countries in all regions, and technical content attracted 200+ Oral and Poster presentations as well as attendance of 800+ participants from all parts of PM industry. Euro PM2013 Congress & Exhibition - Gothenburg Hosts Europe's PM Event of the Year



The historic trading city of Gothenburg played host to this year’s Euro PM Congress organised and sponsored by the European Powder Metallurgy Association. A truly international event it included delegates from nearly 50 countries in all regions including the Far East, Africa and the Americas. The Technical content within the Congress meant that it attracted over 200 Oral and Poster presentations and a strong attendance of over 800 participants from all parts of the PM industry.



The event also included a sell-out exhibition with 85 stands covering companies from all parts of the PM supply chain. Jonathan Wroe, EPMA Executive Director said “Gothenburg has proved an excellent location for an event. We would like to thank the City of Gothenburg, our members and delegates for their support over the course of the event and year, which is much appreciated”.



During the Congress plenary session, recently elected EPMA President, Mr Philippe Gundermann presented the EPMA Distinguished Service Awards to Dr Bryan Roebuck of NPL London, Professor José Torralba from University Carlos III in Madrid and Dr John Dunkley from Atomising Systems in Sheffield.



A new innovation for Euro PM Conferences was the awarding of four special keynote paper awards, sponsored by Journal of Powder Metallurgy, to those papers selected as having the highest merit. The winners were Miss Helen Dugdale from Rolls Royce plc., United Kingdom, Dipl. Engineer Markus Hadyn from Plansee SE, Austria, Dr. Inigo Iturriza from CEIT, Spain, and Mr. Per Lindskog, PM Consultant from Sweden.



A full social programme included a Welcome Reception and a special City Reception in addition to the traditional Congress Dinner. The Congress Dinner was held at Väland a historic restaurant in the heart of the city and provided a superb location for delegates to unwind and sample Swedish cuisine.
