ERIE, Pa. (March 15, 2007) - Erie Plastics, a top-level injection molder servicing U.S. and Global 500 companies, today announced that it successfully earned ISO 9001:2000 certification, a quality management standard recognized worldwide and developed by the International Organization for Standardization.
The company's Corry, Pa., facility was awarded ISO 9001:2000 certification by NSF International Strategic Registrations, Ltd. (NSF-ISR), an accredited global leader in management systems registrations founded in 1944, and headquartered in Ann Arbor, Mich.
The definitive NSF-ISR audit, completed late last month, revealed that Erie Plastics has extensive procedures and work instructions in place that go well beyond ISO 9001 requirements, as the company undergoes numerous regulatory and customer audits on an annual basis.
"Erie Plastics' ISO certification makes an 'official' statement that we are committed to customer service and quality, as well as continuous improvement of our quality processes and procedures," said P. Gaining ISO 9001:2000 certification involves meeting or exceeding a wide range of global quality management standards spanning product development; manufacturing and assembly; control monitoring and measuring; quality management; receiving, shipping and supplier processes; and customer satisfaction, among others. To ensure ongoing quality compliance, certified organizations also participate in follow-up audits every six months.
