Energyzt Analytics, LLC Enhances Power System Modeling Capabilities with GE MAPS License Agreement

BOSTON – Energyzt Analytics, LLC has agreed to license GE's (NYSE: GE) Multi Area Production Simulation (MAPS) software, part of a suite of software solutions from GE's Energy Consulting business. Energyzt provides advanced analytical services and products to companies and investors in the energy industry and their advisors. A key component of this suite of offerings is an up-to-date nodal analysis of the power and transmission system, which benefits from the use of GE's MAPS software.

As the electric power industry rapidly evolves one thing has remained constant—the need to accurately model the engineering and economic operations of the power system in order to make informed decisions. GE's MAPS software allows users to assess the value of a portfolio of generating units, identify transmission constraints that negatively impact the economic operation of the system and analyze the complex interactions between generation and transmission assets. This innovative software features a user-friendly interface, enhanced output processing, detailed transmission modeling and excellent loss modeling capabilities.

Energyzt incorporates GE's MAPS into its suite of proprietary software and models that have improved processing times, automated input and output analysis and enhanced the ability to perform stochastic analysis quantifying upside and downside risks. By combining its proprietary software with GE's MAPS technology, Energyzt can more precisely answer and quantify critical industry investment and operating decision questions—such as power price projections, asset valuations, cost-benefit analyses and project risk—without sacrificing the specificity of nodal analysis.

GE's MAPS software is part of the company's broader Concorda software suite, which also includes PSLF* and MARS*. GE's Energy Consulting business develops, commercially licenses and supports these internationally recognized products that are widely used for planning and simulating electric power grids, assessing the economic performance of large electricity markets and evaluating generation reliability.
