Energy Management Specialist JouleX Becomes Cisco EnergyWise Partner

JouleX Energy Manager (JEM) Brings Enterprise-level Visualization, Analysis and Management Of All Network-connected Devices to Cisco EnergyWise Program

ATLANTA and MUNICH, Dec. 14, 2010 -- JouleX, the leading innovator in enterprise energy management solutions, today announced that its innovative JouleX Energy Manager (JEM) software has been accepted into the Cisco EnergyWise partner program. JEM enables large enterprises to monitor, analyze and manage all IT systems connected to their internal networks. This includes peripherals (PCs, printers, etc.), other office hardware (routers, switches, etc.) and even production equipment or data centers. JouleX's solution integrates transparently into company networks, analyzes current energy usage and energy waste and realizes immediate savings without the need for additional hardware or system changes. At Cisco Expo (Cisco's Berlin trade show), JouleX showcased both its JEM technology and the Cisco EnergyWise API's performance in combination with JEM.

Accepting JouleX into its EnergyWise partner program for the first time enables Cisco to offer its customers an energy management solution which is able to visualize and control all network-connected devices. JouleX and Cisco are also planning to develop additional products for office networks in large enterprises and for data centers. One objective is to use intelligent, load-adaptive networks to improve energy management performance in data centers. Load-adaptive networks combine Cisco's NetFlow traffic analysis tool and JouleX's energy optimization solution to achieve dynamic, near real-time identification of which network devices are required at any given moment and which can be temporarily deactivated to save energy.

"This is an area in which JouleX's and Cisco's expertise complements each other perfectly--our solution is the network's brain, identifying potential savings achievable by adjusting individual components, while Cisco provides the interfaces needed to access these devices," explains Josef Brunner, co-founder of and Chief Architect at JouleX. "The JouleX Energy Manager is intended as an integrated, enterprise-wide energy control panel for large companies. In partnership with Cisco, we are able to offer our customers a unique solution for optimizing energy management. Our customers save money and, at the same time, achieve long-term improvements in energy efficiency," adds Brunner.

About JouleX

JouleX is the leading innovator in sustainable energy management systems for the enterprise. Its flagship solution, the JouleX Energy Manager (JEM), provides the Global 2000 and government agencies with the ability to monitor, analyze and manage energy usage for all network connected devices and systems across the enterprise, including in distributed offices, data centers and facilities. Importantly, JEM works without the use of software agents, dramatically reducing installation time and removing the maintenance burden associated with similar technologies. JEM decreases energy costs by up to 60 percent while ensuring availability and provides robust reporting that enables compliance with emerging carbon monitoring requirements.

JouleX was founded in 2009 and is privately held with capital investments from Target Partners and TechOperators.
