Rosemount Analytical actuators provide tighter control of the air through the furnace which is important in circulating fluidized bed combustion.
SOLON, OHIO (July 2, 2008) - Emerson Process Management, has been awarded a contract to provide ten Rosemount Analytical PowerVUE(TM) Fan/Damper Actuators to control fans for a new coal-fired power plant being constructed in Louisiana.
"The end customer is already heavily invested in Emerson's FIELDVUE technology at its other generating facilities, and carrying this technology to fan and damper control is a next logical step," said Doug Simmers, product manager, Rosemount Analytical Gas Division. "This boiler is using the latest circulating fluidized bed technology, and tighter control of the air through the furnace is important. This new, larger PowerVUE design will deliver 7200 ft. / lbs. of torque."
PowerVue Fan/Damper Actuators are ideal for a range of applications, including fan/damper actuation for utilities, steel mills, refineries, pulp and paper mills and wastewater. Now available in sizes ranging from 4" x 5" to 8" x 14", PowerVue combines the traditional rugged Hagan-style actuator and the advanced control capabilities of Fisher's DVC 6000 FIELDVUE(TM) Digital Valve Controller. The FIELDVUE is the first true digital positioner that uses an internal PID closed loop positioning system as opposed to a mechanical force/balance methodology. Additionally, the FIELDVUE offers unique diagnostics that can be displayed in the control room, indicating actuator performance and problems.
