Press release date: November 5, 2009

Jeannette, PA , Petroleos Mexicanos (PEMEX), Mexico's state-owned petroleum company, has selected Elliott Company to build two compressor trains for a new continuous catalytic regenerative platforming (CCR) plant in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, Mexico. The new CCR plant, to be constructed by Grupo Dragados S.A., will increase production of aromatics for the downstream La Cangrejera petrochemical complex.

The new CCR plant will utilize UOP technology to maximize the production of BTX aromatics, and is expected to process up to 23,000 barrels a day when it goes on line in late 2011. Elliott will provide a recycle compressor train consisting of a 60MBL5 motor-driven barrel compressor, and a net gas compressor train comprised of two barrel compressors, a 32MBL8 and a 25MBL8, driven by a doubleended condensing steam turbine.

"Elliott's unique net gas compressor configuration enabled us to meet the stringent specifications required to achieve the UOP CCR process conditions," said Brook Tolman, Regional Director, Engineered Products - Americas. "The CCR process is an ideal service for Elliott's EDGE compressors. Our leadership in compression technology, combined with our ability to provide a specialized technical solution with the double-ended steam turbine, was instrumental in Elliott's selection as the compressor supplier for this project."

Elliott will also provide the buffer gas, lube oil and control systems for both compressor trains. Delivery is scheduled for April, 2011.
