Elizabeth Austin Will Assume the Role of ANSI Director of Communications and Public Relations


Elizabeth Austin will assume the role of ANSI director of communications and public relations effective January 1, 2009. She has served as communications manager for the Institute since March of 2007.

In her new role, Liz is responsible for the development and management of a fully integrated program encompassing the Institute's publicity, outreach, and communications activities. Included in these responsibilities are press relations, creative and editorial management of all internal and external communications, and special event management. She will be directly involved in the promotion and messaging of each of ANSI's standards panels, as well as its accreditation program and other initiatives.

Liz brings to position over eight years of experience with strategic communications, graphic design, and corporate messaging. Before joining ANSI, she was marketing manager for Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates PC, an architecture firm based in New York. She holds a bachelor of arts in English from the Johns Hopkins University.
