In-House Laboratory Allows Level of Quality Unique in the Industry
Cincinnati, OH (December 10, 2007) To ensure accurate burst pressure and leading edge leak-tightness of bursting discs for safety critical industries, Elfab has added an in-house testing and inspection facility.
Elfab's new sample preparation, inspection and testing lab benefits customers whose foremost concern is quality. The new facility further improves Elfab's already industry best lead-times, allowing individual disc samples to be produced in less than 10 minutes each. The laboratory uses specialist equipment to analyze even the most delicate disc assembly without the risk of inducing defects.
Elfab ensures that all discs are fully tested and inspected prior to installation, reducing test schedules for the customer and ensuring long-term reliability. Sophisticated high-end inspection and analysis software allows for detailed visual examination of the bursting disc assemblies to confirm that no defects exist. The facility uses a custom built pressure test rig that gives Elfab the advanced capability to perform helium pressure testing of bursting disc assemblies. This additional verification of weld quality guarantees that customers are supplied with leak-tight designs up to 10-8cc, making the facility unique in the bursting disc industry.
