Press release date: June 10, 2009

Electronic Craftsmen Corporation (ECC) announces 'Engaged' status with the Supplier Excellence Alliance (SEA). ECC is a leading designer and manufacturer of high-reliability transformers and inductors for aerospace, military, power and specialty instrumentation applications. SEA is an association of aerospace, defense, and space primes/OEMs, major subcontractors, and suppliers working together to accelerate supply chain performance.

ECC is the first custom transformer and inductor manufacturer to achieve Engaged status with SEA. To attain this standing, an aerospace supplier must demonstrate and maintain the continuous process improvements outlined in the "SEA Process Improvements Roadmap". The Roadmap consists of three stages addressing Leadership and Culture, Workforce Development and Operational Excellence/Business Results.

"Electronic Craftsmen has a strong history of leadership in quality standards and process innovation," says Tom Bresele, Vice President of ECC. "We were ISO certified in 1992 and we were the first North American transformer company to achieve the AS9100 designation."

Sam Bajari, Quality Manager ECC, adds, "the lean initiatives and quality standards implemented over the past 15 years has enabled Electronic Craftsmen to rapidly achieve a high level of compliance to rigorous SEA standards." Case in point was ECC's nomination for "Excellence in Workplace Development" at the 2008 SEA Supplier Awards Conference.

ECC has targeted the fourth quarter of 2009 to achieve SEA Certification. "We have developed all the elements for successful certification. We need to finalize our documentation and complete our audit," says a confident Bajari.

SEA's board of directors includes leaders from Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, United Technologies, Rockwell Collins, Cessna Aircraft and Honeywell Aerospace and DRS Technologies.

Located in Waterloo Ontario, ECC has designed and manufactured transformers for more than 50 years. Their customer base includes some of the SEA board companies. ECC has strategic manufacturing and design partnerships with companies in China and Taiwan. The Power Vector division www.powervector.com is a leader in controllable power sources for LED lighting.
