Electrolube Expand Thermal Management Products for LED Applications

Electrolube, the global manufacturer of chemicals for electronic and industrial manufacturing, are launching new products to further expand their solutions for LED applications. Thermal management is vital to the performance and longevity of LEDs, proving that advancements in heat dissipation are crucial to future developments in this field. Electrolube have developed a range of epoxy, polyurethane, silicone and non-silicone chemistries for improving the efficiency of heat dissipation in electronics and LED manufacturing and are proud to announce a new addition to this range. Electrolube's ER2220 is a flame retardant, two-part encapsulation compound, based on epoxy technology. It has been designed to meet growing industry demand for higher thermal conductivity materials that are easy to apply, ensuring more efficient heat dissipation. ER2220 provides an excellent thermal conductivity of 1.54 W/mK, good flow characteristics and a high level of protection against humid and corrosive environments. It also offers flame retardancy up to UL94 V-0 level, making it an ideal choice for a wide variety of applications.

Other products in the Electrolube LED range include optically clear compounds for protection against the surrounding environment. UR5562 is a semi-rigid, optically clear polyurethane resin, specifically developed to offer protection from harsh environmental conditions, without any loss of clarity or performance. This unique system is used in both decorative and protective applications ranging from automotive LED lights to underwater LED lighting. With a low refractive index, UR5562 is an extremely durable resin with a very low mixed system viscosity, allowing intricate components to be potted. For high temperature applications, Electrolube's new SC3001 silicone resin has found a vast array of uses. SC3001 accomplished record sales in Australia and China before being introduced recently to Europe. The optically clear and flexible two-part encapsulation compound offers the highest protection from a range of environments and provides exhibits a high degree of flexibility.

Electrolube also manufacture a number of thermal interface materials (TIMs) for improving heat transfer between a device and heat sink or case. The latest addition to this range is the non-silicone HTCX (Heat Transfer Compound Xtra), which combines a high level of thermal conductivity with exceptionally low oil bleed and evaporation weight loss. HTCX is also highly resistant to humidity and thermal cycling (rapid changes in heating and cooling), making it the ideal product in changing environmental conditions.

This exclusive range of products for the LED industry, along with the new ER2220 encapsulation compound will be launched at EA/ES Live on Thursday 16th May at the Stadium MK in Milton Keynes. Electrolube’s technical support specialists will be available to discuss the benefits of their extensive product range, which incorporates Cleaning, Thermal Management, Conformal Coatings, Resins, Contact Lubricants and Maintenance Service Aids, and will help to identify solutions for visitors with specific electronic and manufacturing requirements.  For further information, please visit www.electrolube.com.
