Westbury, NY Electro Industries/GaugeTech announces that its leading edge watt-hour revenue meters: the Nexus 1262 and Nexus 1272, have been approved by the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) for use as revenue meters in the California market.
CAISO operates about 80% of California's high-voltage wholesale power-grid, serving 30 million customers. As part of its job of coordinating, monitoring, and directing electrical transmission, the CAISO collects revenue metering data for its member utilities. Accuracy in metering data is of the utmost importance to CAISO and its members, and its certification and approval process is meant to utilize the most accurate meters. The approval of the Nexus1262/1272 meters confirms that the Nexus products meet the stringent CAISO requirements for certification and compliance for electrical meters used in ISO applications.
