Ekahau Showcases Location-Based (RTLS) Business Intelligence Software Solution for Hospitals at AAMI 2013

Ekahau's Real-Time Location System (RFID-over-Wi-Fi™) tracks hospital assets, reveals equipment-related workflow bottlenecks and location-based business intelligence to biomedical engineers

RESTON, Va.– Ekahau Inc., the high-performance leader in Real-Time Location Systems (RFID-over-Wi-Fi™, today announced that it will be demonstrating its asset tracking solution using the Ekahau Vision™ business intelligence (BI) platform, at the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation's AAMI 2013 Conference and Expo, June 1-3, in Long Beach, CA at booth #125. Ekahau will demonstrate how the Ekahau Vision™ software platform reveals equipment-related workflow bottlenecks so that equipment placement and maintenance cycles can be optimized based on usage trends.

Ekahau's asset tracking solution helps biomedical engineers quickly find and manage a variety of equipment including IV pumps, wheelchairs, wound vacuums and other vital hospital equipment. The Ekahau Vision™ business intelligence platform offers real-time reporting on equipment par levels, dwell times and asset utilization rates. In addition, Ekahau enables location and status-triggered messaging to and from biomedical engineering teams using Ekahau Wi-Fi badges, whenever inventory is under par, requires maintenance or disinfection, needs to be recalled or enters restricted zones. In addition to exhibiting, Ekahau will be presenting during the AAMI conference, in the session entitled, "Optimizing Asset and Inventory Management with Location-Based Intelligence," taking place in the exhibit hall on June 2(nd) at 5:30pm (PDT). This conference session will discuss key considerations for RTLS adoption by biomedical engineers, asset tracking use cases for hospitals and how to achieve and measure asset Return on Investment (ROI) in less than 12 months.

"The impact of missing medical equipment on a hospital is substantial and it can delay routine workflows such as patient discharges and admissions," said Mark Norris, President and CEO of Ekahau. "Using location-based business intelligence, biomedical engineers can improve asset utilization and automate routine workflows so that caregivers have more time to focus on patients."
