Eight EMS Program Managers Earn Coveted IPC Certification
Five Others Pass Exam and are Provisionally Certified
BANNOCKBURN, Ill., USA, March 9, 2009 - IPC - Association Connecting Electronics Industries® announces that eight individuals are newly certified EMS program managers, under the IPC EMS Program Manager Training and Certification program, and can add the coveted "CEPM" designation behind their names. The eight new CEPMs are:
o Betty Beaudry, regional sales/program manager, Crane Aerospace & Electronics - GTC
o Christopher Schoedinger, program manager, Celestica Arden Hills Operation
o Harley Koch, program manager, Celestica Arden Hills Operation
o Keith Carter, program manager, Key Electronics, Inc.
o Ainsley Stanga, director of program development, Raven Industries
o Kevin Rardin, business unit manager, Jabil Circuit, Inc.
o Ryan Hackl, program manager, Jabil Circuit, Inc.
o James Depuis, sales manager, Janco Electronics, Inc.
In addition, five individuals have undergone the training program and passed the certification exam. Once their work experience is verified, they will earn full CEPM status.
The training program, developed with input from the IPC EMS Management Council, teaches and tests on specific skills for EMS program managers such as operations, finance, contract, and time management and leadership skills. The comprehensive training program is designed for experienced managers, new managers and managers in training within the EMS industry and is broken into four segments: Introduction to EMS Training and Program Management; EMS Training I (self-study/Internet based); EMS Training II; and EMS Leadership Training. CEPM status is earned after successfully completing the program's series of courses, passing a final certification exam and satisfying work experience time requirements.
"When EMS program managers are properly trained and certified, the benefits to the individual, their company and the industry as a whole are numerous. When they better understand the industry, they can identify key issues important to their OEM customers, apply successful problem-solving techniques to specific EMS situations, and work toward meeting their organization's goals," said Susan Filz, IPC director of industry programs.
David Taylor, of Syncro Corporation, who recently passed the exam, notes, "Syncro requires that all of their program managers go through the IPC EMS Program Manager Training and Certification Program. After completing the course, I can see why. The instructors are from the EMS industry. The examples, discussions and case studies are specific to our industry. You could not get this type of specifically tailored training anyplace else."
