Edmund Optics Expands Vision Engineering Team
Barrington, New Jersey March 23: Edmund Optics, an industry leader in providing precision optics and optical components, is pleased to announce a significant enhancement to its engineering team. Three well-known veterans of the imaging and photonics industry will join EO in expanding the company's imaging, photonics, and optics product families.
Jason Mulliner, formerly of National Instruments, has joined EO to direct its product line management and development efforts in 2007. His responsibilities will include management of EO's global product line strategy throughout North American, Asia, Germany, & the UK. Mulliner's exceptional background in the vision industry, coupled with his system application experience, provides the ideal background for directing the expansion of EO's product families. Jason will be located at EO's headquarters in Barrington, New Jersey.
Shawn Eaton, formerly of Stocker Yale, will join EO in March as Product Development Manager for illumination products. Shawn will be spearheading engineering and marketing efforts related to Edmund's illumination technology, including development of EO's Chameleos(TM) product line. She will be working closely with both R&D and Business Development to ensure that EO's illumination products continue to provide state-of-the-art solutions to customer needs. Shawn will be located in EO's New Hampshire facility.
Scott Sparrold will be joining EO's Pennsburg, PA manufacturing facility as a Senior Optical Engineer. A graduate of the University of Arizona Optical Sciences program, Scott has worked for Wavefront Research, Raytheon Missile Systems, Terabeam Labs, and Hughes Aircraft over his 15 year career in optical design. In addition to being well-known for his design talents, Scott is a co-author of several US patents related to optical systems.
These appointments will support EO in continuing its customer-focused development efforts and in building a world-class optical manufacturing facility in Pennsylvania designed to meet the needs of the defense and custom markets in the US.
