ERNI has divided the typical PCB configurations into four connector application areas:
PCBs arranged on the same level (extender card)
Stacked or parallel PCBs (mezzanine)
PCBs arranged at a right angle (motherboard-to-daughtercard)
PCB-cable connections (board-to-cable)
Each of the four connector categories are represented by a recognizable application Icon. By selecting the appropriate icon, an overview of all the possible connector solutions appear. Arranged by the smallest pitch first, this overview provides every available termination method including Surface Mount, Through-Hole and Pressfit. In addition, each connector listed has a 'Show Mating Products' link to easily provide all the mating connector choices available including board to board and cable to board solutions.
